Mahesh Manjrekar

Mahesh Manjrekar is a well-known Indian film actor, director, writer and producer. Born on 16th August 1958, he did his schooling from Don Bosco High School and completed his graduation from Elphinstone College, both in Mumbai.

He was first seen in the Doordarshan Marathi series named ‘Kshitij’. It was after this that his career took off. He played versatile roles in various movies, television series and plays in Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu. Some of his notable acting performances are seen in movies like Vaastav (1999), Kaante (2002), Zinda(2006), Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Me Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy(2009), Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Ready (2011), Bodyguard (2011), Oh My God! (2012), Singham Returns (2014), Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Saaho (2019).

As a director, he has directed various films like Vaastav, Jis Desh Mei Ganga Rehta Hai, Hathyar, It Was Raining That Night, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi, Ami Shubhash Bolchi, City of Gold, to name a few.

He has won a National Award for ‘Best Feature Film in Marathi’ for his movie Astitva in the year 2000. In the year 2003, he received an IIFA award for ‘Best Performance in a Comic Role’ for the movie Kaante. He won the Filmfare ‘Critics Award for Best Film’ in 2017 for the movie Natsamrat.

He has appeared in AGP World’s thriller crime play called ‘Double Deal’ which is extremely gripping from the word go.
